The TABC has released its preseason rankings and Houston Christian boys and girls are highly ranked in the Southwestern Preparatory Conference.
It should come as no surprise that the Houston Christian girls are the top-ranked team in the SPC, considering they have retained the majority of their core players that enjoyed an undefeated season and SPC Championship title, last year.
The TABC anticipates that standouts Loghan Johnson (Texas Tech commit) and D’Asia Thomas (Georgia Tech commit) will lead their squad to a repeat.
Following last season’s loss in the semi-finals, the Houston Christian boys are ranked No. 3 overall and look to make another deep playoff run with their top players Montana Wheeler, CJ Barnes, and Chris Adlam leading the way. Wheeler is the younger brother of Kentucky point guard Sahvir Wheeler.
