The Liberty Hill Panthers beat the Pioneer Diamondbacks 62-35 behind their high powered Slot-T rushing offense led by seniors Ben Carter & Noah Long. Carter had one of his best nights as a Panther Fullback rushing for 226 yards and 6 TDs. Long chipped in with 2 long TDs of his own.
The defense from the Panthers showed up in a big way limiting the high powered attack of the Diamondbacks offense. Pioneer was led by the Senior QB Julian Valdez & Sophomore RB Dylan Tijerina.
The victory will set up a rematch between Liberty Hill and Flour Bluff in the Sweet 16 of the Texas D-II 5A Playoffs next Friday night (7 PM) at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. The last time the two met in the postseason was a year ago, in which the Panthers ran away with a 63-43 victory.
