Week 7 of the high school football season did not provide much of a shakeup in the rankings. The top 10 maintains their spots after taking care of business. Acadiana was particularly impressive, blanking New Iberia 46-0.
Another impressive performance last week came from a previously unranked team. Lafayette Christian Academy shoots up to #13 after defeating the previously undefeated Notre Dame Pioneers. Lafayette Christian will take on Port Barre next week, hoping to improve on their 6-1 record.
Week 7 was also full of stellar individual performances. Down in New Orleans, Rummel's Koy Moore and Isidore Newman's Arch Manning both put on a show. Moore hauled in 8 passes for nearly 100 yards and a TD. In Newman's big win over Riverside, Manning threw for 289 yards and 5 TDs.
Week 8 will be another exciting week with Neville vs. Bastrop, Rummel vs. St. Augustine, and Isidore Newman vs. St. Charles.
