MANVEL IS COMING OFF A 24-WIN SEASON, WHICH SAW IT TURN REGULAR SEASON SUCCESS INTO A RUN TO THE REGIONAL SEMIFINALS.

The Mavericks, under the direction of ninth-year coach Susan Kennedy, return four starters to the squad for 2024 as they seek a 12th-straight trip to the playoffs.

Four-year setter Kenedy Massie is back for her senior year. The list of accomplishments are extensive for Massie, including being named All-State, All-GHVCA in her career. Massie was also named the District 18-5A Setter of the Year after registering 1,066 assists, 345 digs, 188 kills and 68 aces in 2023.

Incoming junior Nevaeh English had a solid sophomore campaign, which saw her named the District 18-5A Offensive Player of the Year at season’s end. English finished with 356 kills, 20 aces, 175 digs and 24 blocks.

First-team, all-district picks Jasmyn Walker (253 kills, 57 blocks, 40 digs) and Keagan St. Junious (287 digs, 23 aces) are back.

Others to watch include Kadia Jackson (2nd team, 151 kills), Rylan Lilly (2nd team, 93 kills, 105 digs), Kaycee Pennie (2nd team, 131 kills), London King (Honorable Mention, 45 kills, 115 digs) and Sami Guikema (Honorable Mention, 144 digs).
