Texas A&M Aggies: Local Faces make a return to DFW

Texas A&M and Arkansas both travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Saturday to face off at Jerry's World in Arlington, Texas. Fans that attend the game might see some familiar faces returning to the DFW area on Saturday afternoon.

Shemar Turner, Defensive Line - DeSoto


A four-star recruit out of high school, Turner was a strong force for DeSoto. During his senior season, Turner totaled 76 tackles, 43 solo tackles, and 12 sacks.

Blake Smith, TE - Southlake Carroll


Smith was a strong athlete for the Southlake Carroll Dragons where he totaled 287 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and a 68% pass completion. Smith also totaled 55 rushing yards on 16 carries for one touchdown. On the receiving end, Smith totaled nearly 600 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 46 catches.

Michael Clemons, Defensive Line - Sachse


A three-star prospect coming out of high school and the No. 23 overall prospect, Clemons was a force for Sachse high school. Clemons played at Cisco Junior College before making his way to the Aggies' squad and was rated as the No. 5 JUCO defensive end in the nation.

Deuce Harmon, DB - Denton Guyer


Harmon was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and the 16th-best cornerback prospect in the country. He was a strong force for Guyer leading the Wildcats to championship appearances. Harmon totaled 106 tackles (79 solo), one sack, nine interceptions, and caused five fumbles.

Connor Choate, Deep Snapper - Coppell

Choate was rated as the No. 7 long snapper by ESPN and the No. 5 long snapper at the Kohl's Kicking Camp. He was a two-year letterman with Coppell's football and lacrosse teams. His efforts on the team helped lead the Cowboys to a 10-3 record in 2016. Choate also recovered one fumble while tallying four solo tackles.

Brian Williams, DB - Bishop Dunne


In 2017, Williams was only a junior when he was named to the USA TODAY High School Sports Defensive Player of the Year and First Team. During his senior season, Williams totaled 60 tackles, 38 solo tackles, two sacks, six interceptions, and caused one fumble.

Eli Stowers, TE - Denton Guyer


Stowers was a four-star recruit coming out of high school where he was nearly unstoppable for Denton Guyer as a quarterback. For the Wildcats, Stowers totaled almost 7,000 passing yards, 66 passing touchdowns, and averaged roughly 165 passing yards a game. Stowers completed 60% of his passes while with Guyer. Upon getting to A&M, Stowers transitioned to a tight end position where he ha played in two games.

Randy Bond, PK - Plano West


Randy Bond was a great kicker for Plano West where he also played soccer for the school. Bond signed with Texas A&M and kicked off eight times for 510 yards.

Caden Davis, PK - Coppell

As a junior with Coppell, Davis was named AP All-State Honorable Mention. Davis was 11-for-15 on field goals as a senior and his longest field goal kick was 57-yards. During his high school career, Davis was 41-for-56 on field goals and 146-for-150 on extra points.

Cade Garcia, DB - Fort Worth Christian 


During his high school career, Garcia totaled over 1,300 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns on 209 carries. On the ground, Garcia tallied 403 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on 22 catches. During his senior season, Garcia racked up 205 rushing yards and five touchdowns for the Cardinals.

Andrew Merrick, LB - Parish Episcopal 


Merrick was a driving force for Parish Episcopal where he totaled 163 tackles during his time with the Panthers. Of his total tackles, 33 were solo. Marrick also tallied one sack, one interception, and two caused fumbles.

Houston Hummel, LB - Highland Park


Hummel had a strong career with Highland Park. In his senior season, Hummel tallied 17 tackles in three games. Of the 17 tackles, seven were solo tackles.

Baylor Cupp, TE - Brock


Cupp had an excellent high school career with the Brock Eagles. During his senior season, Cupp totaled 492 yards and six touchdowns on 20 catches for Brock. Cupp was also named an Under Armour All-American.

Jordan Johnson, Defensive Line - Seagoville


Jordan Johnson was a strong force for Seagoville football. As a strong player, Johnson helped lead the Dragons to many wins over the likes of Wyatt, Dallas Adamson, Dallas Conrad, and more during his senior season.
