After a great 2020 season was cut short, the Churchill Chargers are looking to be back and better this year. The boys soccer team from Churchill is explosive, aggressive, and looking to be the district champions of 2021.
Although the Chargers are in a very tough 6A district (district 28) with LEE, Reagan and Madison we still expect some big results from these players. After finishing district runner-up last year, and earning the first playoff berth in four years, the Chargers expect to be back in the playoffs again this year. Like other teams, the coach's key to success is staying Covid free! "We currently have 13 seniors in quarantine (eight starters) but the young guys have earned two wins and a tie during the quarantine. We have found some young gems during this time and we hope COVID troubles are behind us, " said Coach Linthicum.
The quarantined players and coach will return beginning our second district match against Madison. With some leadership and all-district recipients back on the field, we can expect a lot from Jared Lucio, Joaquin Romero, and Santiago Ramos for the Chargers.
