THE POWER RANKINGS: Mother Nature joins Stony Point atop Austin area Boys rankings
The only real drama last week involved the weather. When Mother Nature threw her (hopefully only) hissy fit of the winter, it scrambled schedules across the city. That forced a slew of makeup games on Wednesday night with a short bounce back to playing again on Friday.
Our ranked teams mostly shrugged off the nuisance and took care of business. The only movement came in the bottom half of our rankings: Lago Vista slipped a few spots after a tough loss at sub-.500 LBJ and Leander stepped over Georgetown when the Eagles fell at unranked Hendrickson. Combined with taking a 3-pointer at the buzzer for visiting Vandegrift to hold off a .500-ish Vista Ridge, it shows how tough it is to win district games on the road.
The only other note is 4A Wimberley popping into the rankings. Here’s the latest with just two and a half weeks left in the regular season.
