The Manor ISD PxP voice cruised to a perfect 9-0 mark for the second straight week to pull into sole possession of first place in our VYPE Austin PxP Pick ‘em competition.
Cecil Coconougher (Cedar Park), Jeff Goen (Hyde Park) and Josh Blanch (St. Stephen’s) also recorded perfect weeks to move up the standings. Yours truly dropped a game back despite going 8-1 on the week. That mark was good enough to lift Melvin Jones (Regents) back into third place and allowed Michael Rose (Hutto), David Roy (Austin High) and Tyler Ulses (Crockett) to close in on their nearest competitors.
Everyone correctly picked three of the nine games; Bowie over Del Valle, Regents over Bishop Dunne and Vandegrift over McNeil. East View’s late charge came up short in overtime at Lake Belton in the game that tripped up five of our 13 competitors.
