FOR THE THRONE: No. 4 Episcopal looks to defend the SPC Title

4 -- EPISCOPAL KNIGHTS

Led by coach Wayne Jones, the Knights earned the program’s fifth SPC Championship last winter, with their 62-55 triumph versus St. Mark’s, ending the year with a record of 27-8.

As we predicted, Alim Olajuwon (So. G) showcased a break-out performance to garner an All-SPC nod, alongside the now-graduated Justin Begg (George Mason) and Jakeel Registe (Blinn College).

In order to go back-to-back, others will need to step up, but Jake Davis (Sr. G) and Aiden Fyfe (So. G) are strong candidates to fulfill that role, alongside football-star Brandon Thomas Jr. (Sr. G) and Christian Houston (Sr. F).

Episcopal is expected to contend with the likes of St. John’s and Houston Christian for that distinction, although the consistency this group continues to show should put them in an optimal position throughout the 2024-25 season.
