Two of the top volleyball teams in the Texas Class 4A will meet Tuesday in the season finale, and you can listen to the match on vypefortbend.com starting at 5:50 PM. The Fulshear Chargers, 37-3 and ranked 3rd in the state by MaxPreps behind Argyle and defending state champion Decatur, host the 33-10 and 17th-ranked Needville Lady Blue Jays.
Needville advanced all the way to the state final in 2018, and VYPE broadcasted their state championship match vs. Decatur live from Garland.
Fulshear has defeated Needville twice in 2019, Aug. 10 in tournament play and Oct. 4 in their first District 25-4A meeting, Needville's only district loss. The Lady Blue Jays can spoil Fulshear's perfect (11-0) district record, but Needville hasn't been able to win a game in either of the two teams' previous matches.
The UIL playoffs begin the week of Nov. 4-9, and vypefortbend.com will broadcast selected postseason matches featuring Fulshear and the Ridge Point Panthers, who advanced to the 2018 state championship match vs. Flower Mound. Ridge Point is 39-4 in 2019, ranked 6th in the state by MaxPreps, and has won 13 straight matches.
